It’s my belief that wedding photography should reveal the elation of that moment – of a couple’s slowly unfolding authentic life story. Told through the language of photography by a master photojournalist who is discreet when necessary and at other moments an ardent are director.

The skills of composition and lighting are basic for me because of my formal training, but heartfelt photography is more than just a collection of “images” that need to be “captured.” Photographs of this nature honor a couple’s deep love and their collective heritage. Two people standing, pledging their lives to each other with witnesses. It’s an age-old rite-of-passage; and as in ancient times, it’s a sacred gathering. Having been a bride myself, there’s been nothing that has touched my heart more deeply.

My MA in photojournalism comes from one of the top schools in the country for this career, and I’ve won thirty-one contest entries from the prestigiously recognized, international Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA).

I’ve won numerous awards for my photography with the editorial press, and I was invited to attend the exclusive Eddie Adams Workshop, a top honor for photojournalists.
I’m also a pre-qualification judge for Adobe with their ADAA contest.

I’ve been published in Photo District News, Newsday, Woman’s Day, Parents Magazine, The London Sunday News Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Los Angeles Times, The Baltimore Sun, The Denver Post and The Louisville Courier-Journal among others and was chief photographer and photo editor for two newspapers.

With the experience of photographing more than 435 weddings, I can bring you the expertise you require and expect. I’d be my honor to offer you truly believable and authentic memories of your wedding day and then some!

They say that getting married is the happiest time in your life; however, planning the wedding can be the most frustrating time in your life. Choosing Stephanie to be our photographer ended up being one of our best decisions.  Once the decision was made we felt that there was one less thing to worry about.  Her artistic vision combined with her professionalism really put our minds at ease; giving us every confidence that the pictures would be everything we dreamed them to be. After the wedding that opinion changed, for the better.  We could not have wished for a more wonderful experience, as she followed us from hotel and church prior to the wedding, during the ceremony, both receptions, and to an unplanned trip to Peoples Park to feed the homeless. She blended into the wedding so well, some of our guests asked if she was part of the family.  After looking at the pictures we were blown way at how well she captures the essence, beauty, and emotion of the wedding.  As a teacher I can honestly say if you are considering hiring Stephanie as your photographer you have already passed Wedding Planning 101.
